Shop Cash is a form of digital currency that customers can use to make purchases on the Shop app. When you create a Shop Cash campaign, your offer is shown to potential new customers in the Shop Cash offers section of the Shop app.

Shop Cash campaigns are a great way to acquire new customers because you only pay acquisition costs for successful sales. Customers who have purchased from your store before won't be able to view your Shop Cash offer, so you can focus on acquiring new customers.

Requirements for Shop Cash campaigns

Shop Cash campaigns are available only to stores that meet all of the following requirements:

• Your store is on the Shopify Plus plan and is located in the United States.
• Your store has a US Shopify Payments account that accepts USD and has Shop Pay activated.
• Your store meets Shop's merchant eligibility requirements.

If your store meets these requirements, you can create a Shop Cash campaign and start acquiring new customers.

How do Shop Cash campaigns work?

When you create a Shop Cash campaign, you need to set a budget. Your daily budget is the total amount of money that you want to spend each day that your Shop Cash campaign runs. The maximum cost per acquisition is the maximum amount that you're willing to spend to acquire a new customer in one transaction. The Shop Cash value and acquisition fee combined won't exceed this amount for any one transaction.

Each time an order is placed using a Shop Cash offer, charges are deducted from your Shopify Payments payout balance. This continues until your total campaign budget is reached. If your daily budget is reached, then the campaign is paused for the rest of that day, and your budget refreshes the following day.

There's no pre-funding required to create a Shop Cash campaign. If your Shopify Payments payout balance has insufficient funds to cover the campaign charges, then the deduction is reattempted until the charges are successful. During this time, the Shop Cash portion of your order payout is withheld until the campaign fees are collected.

Creating a Shop Cash campaign

Creating a Shop Cash campaign is easy. Any staff member in your store who has Shop channel and marketing permissions can create and manage Shop Cash campaigns. You can have one active campaign at a time. Here are the steps to create a Shop Cash campaign:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.
2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Shop.
3. Click Open sales channel.
4. Click Marketing, and then click Create Campaign in the top right corner.
5. Enter the name of your campaign.
6. In the Schedule section, enter the start date and time that you'd like for your campaign to begin.
7. Optional: If you want to set an end time for your campaign, then select the Set end time checkbox.
